Tsipras enjoys a family vay-cay on a secret isle

Ereikoussa, a small island north of Corfu, is where Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras took his family for a family vacation. Apart from leading the country in its fight against austerity, Alexis is also a father and family, and as such, he took his family away from it all on Saturday morning.

Few Greeks even know of the existence of Ereikoussa, one of the three islands off Corfu along with Mathraki and Othoni. These three islands are considered small paradise retreats but remain a secret from the hoi polloi.

Tsipras will be on the island for just a few days. He has asked local authorities to refrain from offering him police protection. All he wants is to live a few days far from the madding crowd, far from luxury and to live as an ordinary man.
