Finance Ministry: No extensions for tax statements

The Greek Finance Ministry issued a statement ruling out an extension for the filing of citizen’s tax statements. It should be noted that the deadline for submitting tax statements is August 26. The statement underlines that:

1. 84 per cent of all tax statements have been filed
2. The extensions given for submitting tax statements suffice
3. The problems caused by any delays or omissions to citizens and accountants as a result of government failings are duly acknowledged, however the completion of tax statements is necessary
4. Based on the above there will be no extension granted beyond the known dates of August 20 and 26 for all persons

It should be reminded that failure to file a tax statement on time is subject to fines:

-100 Euros (in the event books are not up to date)

-Monthly increment of 0.73 on the taxable amount
