Second curfew lifted in Turkey's Cizre

A curfew declared in the southeastern province of ??rnak?s Cizre district since 7 p.m. on Sept. 13 has been lifted, an official statement announced on Sept. 14.

This was the second curfew declared in Cizre, where putative operations to apprehend members of the ?separatist terrorist organization? ? an official euphemism for the outlawed Kurdistan Workers? Party (PKK) ? were ongoing, and came just 36 hours after the state finally lifted a siege that had last more than a week and which resulted in the deaths of more than 20 civilians.

The curfew began at 7 p.m. on Sept. 13 and ended at 7 a.m. on Sept. 14, the district governor?s office said in a statement.
