Second blast furnace fired up in Smederevo steel mill

After four years, the second blast furnace in the Zelezara Smederevo steel mill was fired up on Friday.

The company's release reads that 80 percent of the blast furnace No.1 overhaul was carried out by the employees, adding that 10 to 15 days are needed before full stabilization of production is achieved after which the maximum operating capacities of 75,000 tons a month are expected to be established.
