The death toll of the twin suicide bombing in Ankara on Oct. 10 increased to 100 as of Oct. 16, the Education and Science Workers' Union (E?itim-Sen) has stated via its Twitter account.

"Our teacher friend, Ata Önder Atabay, who was severely injured on Oct. 10, has passed away at hospital where he was being treated this morning [Oct. 16]. Our pain has grown even bigger," read the tweet.

The death toll of the Ankara bombing therefore increased to 100, though no official announcement on Atabay's death was issued by the government. The latest official death toll remains at 99, announced by Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu on a live TV broadcast on Oct. 15.

While 100 people died in total at the twin bombing in front of Ankara's main train station on Oct. 10 as crowds were gathering to march for peace, around 500 people were wounded. Some of the wounded still remain in a critical condition.
