Greek government gives tax evaders a last chance to come clean

Alternate Finance Minister Tryfon Alexiadis invited Greek tax evaders to reveal their secret stash of undeclared funds kept abroad or in Greece by offering new incentives to declare these in a bill that will soon be tabled in Greek Parliament.

Alexiadis said the last-chance amnesty law will be ready in two months. He said that those who don’t declare their assets with this new law will then face serious tax and criminal penalties once the government finds them thanks to a wealth register of assets to be drawn up.
