Dep. FM to participate at 38th General Conference of UNESCO

Deputy Foreign Minister Yiannis Amanatidis will represent Greece at the 38th General Conference of UNESCO.

The General Conference, which is held every two years, aims to establish the “road map” of the organization for the fulfillment of the targets adopted at the Headquarters of United Nations in New York.

The fulfillment of the “Sustainable Development Goals” by 2030, as adopted in New York last September, is the topic of this year’s conference.

The conference began on Wednesday and will last until November 18.

The Greek Deputy Foreign Minister will address the plenary today at 18:00.

During the conference, the participants will also examine policies and program, they will make a review of the achievements, and they will review the 2016-2017 budget.
