Pro-ISIS Syrians investigated by Kos police

Greek Coast Guards and the National Intelligence Service has been monitoring terrorist developments on the island of Kos in an operation that began following the Paris attacks on Friday, November 13. The activities of two Syrians who arrived on the island with refugees are under the microscope reports Greek daily newspaper Eleftheros Typos citing police sources. The suspects links to terrorist groups were indicated by documented photographs on their cell phones with guns, knives, ISIS flags and snashots with ISIS militants with covered faces.

Police interrogations found that one of the suspects were openly against the Assad regime that he claims are “enemies”, though he did not openly state allegiance to ISIS. The images on his cell phone, however are non-verbal testimonies of his allegiance and participation in pro-ISIS activities.

The two Syrians arrived on Kos on Monday on a dinghi with dozens of other refugees. Upon their arrival police began to investigate their past and links to ISIS in an effort to determine whether they are active jihadists. They were pinpointed as ISIS supporters during their documentation by Greek authorities when their cell phones were confiscated for further examination.
