Bulgaria, China to Deepen Cooperation in Infrastructure, Nuclear Power
Bulgaria and China pledged on Thursday to deepen cooperation in the areas of infrastructure, nuclear power, agriculture and tourism.
This became clear after a meeting between Bulgarian Prime Minister and his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang.
Borisov headed the Bulgarian delegation of seven ministers, who attended the fourth leaders' meeting between Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries and China, which was held in the Chinese city of Suzhou.
The Chinese Premier said that his country is interested in participating in the infrastructure construction projects for high-speed railway and motorway around the Black Sea, which had been proposed by Bulgaria.
Li added that the two countries will also discuss cooperation in nuclear power, agricultural products and tourism.
He noted that the friendship between the two countries is profound and bilateral relations are healthy and stable, Xinhua news agency quotes him as saying.
In his words, since Bulgaria is an important CEE country, it plays a positive role in the cooperation between China and the countries of the region.
The Chinese Premier assured that his country values relations with Bulgaria and expressed hope to increase exchange between the two countries and promote a friendly and comprehensive partnership.
Borisov congratulated the successful outcome of the annual leaders' meeting and identified relations between Bulgaria and China as solid.
The Bulgarian prime minister noted that the two countries are willing to enhance cooperation in the construction of railways and highways as well as in nuclear energy.
Borisov also said that Bulgaria could play an important role in improving the connectivity between the EU and China.
