24 terror suspects sent to court in Istanbul

A total of 24 suspected members of to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and outlawed Marxist-Leninist Communist Party (MLKP) were sent to court on Dec. 7, judicial sources said.

The suspects, including four PKK members and 20 MLKP members, were detained in two separate operations on Dec. 4 in Istanbul, police said, according to Anadolu Agency.

While some suspects were presented before the Kartal courthouse on the city's Asian side, the others were sent to the courthouse in Ca?layan on the European side.

On Dec. 4, a  total of 16 suspects, including the press advisor of Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) co-chair Figen Yüksekda?, were detained in anti-terror operations against the MLKP in seven Turkish provinces.

Ten of the 16 were detained in Istanbul early Dec. 4, while six others were detained in Ankara, the Aegean province of ?zmir, the southern province of Adana, the Central Anatolian province of Eski?ehir, the western province of Denizli and the northwestern province of Bal?kesir in Istanbul-based anti-terror pre-dawn raids.

Among the detained in Istanbul was the HDP co-chair's press agent, Ece ?im?ek.
