Singers and Footballers Top Google Searches in Balkans

It's that time of year again, when Google publishes its lists of the most frequently used Google search terms used in 2015.

People in the Balkans, as in most countries around the globe, are most curious about pop singers and football players, according to an article published by Time weekly.

Serbian pop folk singer Svetlana Ra?natovi?, known as Ceca, was the most searched person in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and, of course, her home country of Serbia.

Another pop folk singer, Severina Vuckovic, known just as Severina to her numerous fans across former Yugoslavia, got most attention from web surfers in Croatia, her native country.

In Romania, another singer, Florin Stoian, earned the distinction of being the most-searched person in Romania. Stoian, better known as Florin Salam, meaning "rosy sausage", is beloved by fans of turbo-folk music, or manele, in Romania.

The same type of music, known in Bulgarian as "chalga", helped Azis become the most frequently searched person in Bulgaria.

Star football player Cristiano Ronaldo took the top spot in Albania and Kosovo.

The Google ranking shows that the most-searched persons in the world were reality TV star Kim Kardashian and Argentine football player Lionel Messi.
