Playboy Mansion is going on sale

After decades of legendary parties and playmates, the Playboy Mansion is being put up for sale for $200 million, Playboy Enterprises said.

The mansion was built in 1927 and purchased by Playboy in 1971 for a reported $1.1 million. It is situated in Holmby Hills west of the city and has 29 rooms including a wine cellar, a free-form swimming pool, movie theater and several tennis courts.

The Playboy Mansion is frequently rented for movie screenings, corporate parties and charity events, while it has also been featured in a number of music videos, television shows and movies.

The mansion in which Hefner still lives, has also a zoo license, according to the company’s statement.

“The Playboy Mansion has been a creative center for Hef as his residence and workplace for the past 40 years, as it will continue to be if the property is sold,” the statement added.

However, representatives of the company did not say why the company had the decided to sell the property.
