Bulgaria to Be Partner Country to 2018 Green Week in Berlin
Bulgaria will be one of the partner countries of 2018's edition of the International Green Week Berlin, a public exhibition bringing together key representatives of the food, agriculture, and gardening industry.
This was announced by Agriculture Minister Vasil Grudev, who was in Berlin for the opening of the exhibition, where Bulgaria also has a pavillion in the shape of a traditional 19th century house.
Bulgarian delegation held on Friday a meeting with the exhibition's organizer, Focus News Agency quotes Grudev as saying.
In his words, the choice of 2018 is no coincidence, with Bulgaria due to take over the Concil of the EU Presidency in the second half of the year.
Grudev opined a prominent role for Bulgaria in the expo would help the country promote its national brand. "I am not speaking [only] of agricultural goods, but the opportunities to make Bulgaria more popular as a tourist destination".
The country has applied to be a partner country every year since 2011.
This year, Morocco has become the first African country to be a partner of the International Green Week.
