Migrants and refugees stuck in Greece

While the Greek islands receive thousands of refugees and immigrants from Turkey every day, FYROM imposes stricter border controls leading to thousands of refugee ad migrants being stuck at Idomeni, northern Greece.

According to the latest data provided by Greek authorities, from the police, about 2,000 people are at Idomeni refugee camp, while 62 buses carrying about 3,000 people are waiting at the gas station located about 20 km away from the camp in order to get the “green light” from the police to continue their route.

Moreover, on Monday morning more than 4,000 refugees and migrants arrived at Piraeus port who were stuck there because traffic police did not let them get on the buses Idomeni.
