Turkish Foreign Ministry lashes out at Tsipras and Pavlopoulos
Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs lashed out at President of Hellenic Republic Prokopis Pavlopoulos and Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Thursday night in response to the statements of the Greek state and political leadership on the Armenian Genocide during the visit of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan in Athens.
Commenting the statements made during the visit of Sargsyan, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the statements in question are “the product of a pathetic attitude”, which “proves that the relations and solidarity between Greece and Armenia are built on a common rivalry […] against the Turkish identity”.
