Brussels’ metro station attacker Khalid El Bakraoui had reached Greece from Italy in July 2015, according to Sky Italia TV network citing Italian counter-terrorism unit sources.
Specifically, on July 23, 2015, he flew to Italian city Treviso from Brussels and the next morning he flew from Marco Polo Airport in Venice to Athens.
According to Italian media reports, El Bakraoui used a Belgian passport or ID, while Italian newspaper La Repubblica notes that a few days later, in August 2015, Salah Abdeslam, who was recently arrested in Brussels, had arrived in Italy’s port Bari heading to Patras, Greece.
Moreover, the Italians journalists claim that the terrorist attacks at Brussels could have been planned during the summer of 2015.
