No Terrorists, Foreign Fighters in Bulgaria, IntMin Says
Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumyana Bachvarova has fended off suggestions there might be "foreign fighters and terrorists" operating in the country.
Bachvarova has told journalists, in the weekly Q&A session of ministers with Parliament, that security services are working on any alerts that might be received on EU partner agencies.
She has commented on reports that Croatian counter-intelligence services submitted information of "terrorists" based in Bulgaria. Focus News Agency quotes her as saying the information is being checked, but no evidence has been established that such people are present in the country.
Earlier this week, Newsweek Serbia warned countries such as Bulgaria and Croatia are an "important link" in terror activity in Europe, basing their claims on documents from French police and security services.
