Bulgaria's President Attending Global Security Forum in Slovakia
President Rosen Plevneliev will attend and take part in the 11th edition of the Globsec forum due on April 15-17 in Bratislava, Slovakia, his press office has said.
Plevneliev will be one of the panelists alongside counterparts of Slovakia, Croatia and Macedonia and ministers and other officials from all around Europe (mostly Eastern European states), the Middle East, United States, China and elsewhere.
The event the President is attending is titled "Energy in Europe: Clash of Strategic Interests?"
A range of core topics will be discussed at the forum such as the forthcoming NATO summit in Warsaw later this year, the future of the EU, an approach to the Middle Eastern conflicts, relations with Russia, and an outlook on US foreign policy in light of the next administration due to take over after the elections this autumn.
Separately, Plevneliev will meet Slovakian counterpart Andrej Kiska (who was in Bulgaria last autumn for the opening of Sofia Tech Park) and EU Commission Vice President for Energy Union Maros Sefcovic.
