The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) harshly criticized Iran on April 15, accusing it of "continued support for terrorism" and interference in the internal affairs of regional states including Syria and Yemen.

Amid fresh discussion over the wording in the communique of the organizations summit in Istanbul, Turkish President invited Iranian President Hasan Rouhani, who was also in Istanbul, to Ankara, Anadolu Agency quoted presidential sources as saying.

"The Conference deplored Iran's interference in the internal affairs of the States of the region and other Member States including Bahrain, Yemen, Syria, and Somalia, and its continued support for terrorism," the OIC said in its final communique.

It also stressed the need for cooperative relations between Islamic states and Iran.

Rouhani will be in Ankara on April 16, where he and Erdo?an will chair a High Level Cooperation Council, presidential sources said.

Mutual ties and regional issues will be discussed during the meeting, they added.

Iran and Turkey strongly differ on the future of Syria as Ankara insists that Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad should leave post for an ending to the civil war in Syria, while Tehran has consistently supported his regime.
