1,687 Serbian, 196 foreign observers to monitor elections
BELGRADE - The upcoming elections in Serbia will be monitored by 1,687 domestic and 196 foreign observers, says the head of the national electoral commission, Dejan Djurdjevic.
"All elections in Serbia have been monitored by various domestic and foreign observers, so these elections, too, garnered great public interest at home and abroad," Djurdjevic told Tanjug, adding that accreditation deadlines for observers have expired.
The observers will monitor the work of the national electoral commission and electoral committees. CeSID will have 705 observers, followed by the Crta association with 509, the Citizens on Watch association with 462 and the Academic Initiative Forum 10 association with nine observers for electoral committees in Novi Pazar, with the Lawyers' Committee for Human Rights (YUCOM) to have two observers monitoring the work of the national electoral...
