RIK begins recount of votes from 99 polling stations

BELGRADE - Serbia's central electoral commission RIK on Thursday began a recount of votes from 99 polling stations at which there had been found to be "grave errors" during the April 24 elections.

"The recount is under way, at 99 polling stations," RIK president Dejan Djurdjevic told Tanjug.

At a session that lasted until 2 am Thursday, the RIK members agreed that bags containing ballots from all polling stations affected by "grave errors" be inspected, and commissions were established for this purpose.

After the recount, the RIK session will be continued in order to make a decision on the fate of the votes from the polling stations concerned.
