3rd generation of terrorists behind the parcel bomb in Cholargos

Counterterrorism analysts believe that the parcel bomb located at the house of the President of Court of Appeals, Isidora Poga, in Cholargos, was probably sent by a third generation of terrorist organization Conspiracy of Cells of Fire, since all evidence points to a new cycle of attacks which started after November 2015 when “Popular Fighters” claimed responsibility for the bombing attack at Hellenic Federation of Enterprises (SEV) offices.

Reliable sources indicate three points that strongly concern officials of the Counterterrorism Unit.

1.The fact that new members of the urban guerrilla have been trained and are engaged in terrorist activities, such as sending parcel bombs to persons who had dealt with cases of new-terrorism.

2.The mechanism included in the parcel bomb sent is considered more advanced than the one used by older members of Conspiracy of Cells of Fire and, therefore, was built by new members who have been trained on the know-how by international organizations.

3. It is very likely more parcel bombs to have been sent or will be sent to other targets.

Therefore, counterterrorism unit re- examines all targets and security measures in an attempt to prevent potential terrorist attack.
