Spanovic wins in Lausanne for overall triumph

LAUSANNE - The best Serbian track-and-field athlete Ivana Spanovic won the meeting of the Diamond League in Lausanne on Thursday in the long jump event. She jumped 6.83 meters and secured the triumph in the overall standings.

The second place was claimed by Briton Ugen Lorraine (6.71 m) and the third by Russian Darya Klishina (6.5).

The Rio Olympic champion, American Tianna Bartoletta, jumped 6.46 meters, winning the fifth place.

Spanovic, who won the bronze in Rio, secured the overall triumph and a 40,000-dollar prize with a fourth win this season and 46 points in total.

Until the end of the season there are two meetings left - in Paris on August 27 and Zurich on September 1.
