Turkish army carries out fresh airstrikes on PKK targets, 12 militants killed

Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) jets hit outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) targets during an aerial operation in the rural parts of the Çukurca district in the eastern province of Hakkari early on Sept. 7, the TSK has said.

Upon instant information gathered by the TSK, Turkish jets initiated an aerial operation in the area between 4:53 a.m. and 5:15 a.m. and reportedly destroyed a dynamic target and a shelter used by militants.

Meanwhile, the TSK announced that on Sept. 6 some 12 PKK militants were killed as part of an aerial-supported operation in the Çukurca area.

The TSK also sent additional forces to Çukurca, as the operations against PKK militants in the area were ongoing. Some 157 militants were reportedly killed in operations in the Çukurca area so far.
