Six Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militants were killed in air strikes by coalition forces carried out as part of the "Euphrates Shield" operation in northern Syrian between al-Rai and Azaz on Sept. 13, as the Turkish-initiated offensive of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) enters its 22nd day.

A statement issued by the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) said there had been five coalition strikes on ISIL targets in the Yahmul, Kafr Ghan, Güzel Mezra and Jakka areas east of Azaz and six militants were killed, in addition to the destruction of four mortar positions and two defense positions. The statement added that Turkish jets did not carry out the strikes but were waiting on the ground for any instant targets that might emerge.

Meanwhile, it was noted that six ISIL targets were pounded by 13 Turkish "Fırtına howitzers" shells as part of the operation and the total number of shellings since the beginning of the operation reached to 2,245 on 524 targets.Photos from Turkey, coalition 'Euphrates Shield' op targeting ISIL in Syria's JarablusIstanbul welcomes third bridge over BosphorusLife in Jarablus after liberation from ISIL through the lens of Hürriyet reporter Selçuk ŞamiloğluHalfeti - A town of mesmerizing beautyExhibition shows Istanbul through eyes of children Secret weapons of Turkish army: locally produced rocket launchers, missile systemsThe bugs of Ankara: The weirdest scenes that anyone can run into in Turkish capitalA bird's eye view tour of Turkey's eastern provinces of Van and HakkariTurkish man with four wives has his 32nd childTurkish police raid Koza İpek's media HQ in Istanbul amid protestsTurkey celebrates Republic Day against backdrop of political turbulenceLocal authorities in Adıyaman stir outcry for sitting under tent as...
