Police seeking Ben Needham find evidence of decomposition on Kos, reports say

British media reports said Thursday that investigators on the island of Kos have evidence of decomposition during a dig to find information about Ben Needham, the toddler who went missing on the island in 1991.

According to reports, forensic scientists are, so far, not in a position to ascertain whether the decomposition is human. Soil samples are still being examined at a laboratory in the UK.

British police searching for Ben Needham, who went missing on the island of Kos 25 years ago at the age of 21 months, said on Tuesday that they had found items of "slight interest", including fabric and bones believed to belong to a dog or other animal.

The items were sent to London for forensic tests.

Officers aim to establish whether the fabric found might be pieces of the clothes Ben had been wearing when he disappeared on the island on 1991.
