Hungary Indicts 7 Bulgarians Over Death of 71 Migrants
Hungarian police announced that it will charge seven Bulgarians and an Afghani male after it concluded the investigation of the death of 71 migrants discovered in a truck in Austria last year.
The investigators reckon the Afghani man was at the head of the gang. He and the seven Bulgarians were arrested because of the tragedy which became notorious all over Europe.
Four people have been charged with murder and another four may be charged with organised human trafficking, stated a senior officer in the police unit for combating migrant trafficking.
Three more members of the organised criminal group are still wanted.
The bodies of 71 migrants were discovered in an abandoned refrigerator truck in the Austrian province of Burgenland, close to the border with Hungary.
