Serbian band S.A.R.S. receives MTV award

BELGRADE - The Serbian band S.A.R.S. received the MTV Best Adria Act Award at Belgrade's "Akademija" bookstore Tuesday, also promoting their "birthday" LP, symbolically titled "10".

Frontman Zarko Kovacevic told Tanjug the award means much because it came from the fans.

"This kind of awards means a lot to us - awards from critics, not so much", said Kovacevic and stressed that the MTV helped them during their career and that even some of the group's albums were released in collaboration with the station.

Marking the 10th anniversary, S.A.R.S. released an LP compilation of ten songs that are the fans' favorites or very dear to the band members themselves, said Kovacevic.

S.A.R.S. is a special band we supported and promoted from the beginning, said Daryl Fidelak, presenting the award on behalf of the MTV.
