Dacic: Foreign diplomats should not be lecturing Serbia

BELGRADE- Foreign diplomats in Belgrade should not be lecturing Serbia or interfering in its policy, Serbian FM Ivica Dacic said Tuesday.

Reacting to a statement by Ukrainian Ambassador Oleksandr Aleksandrovych that Serbia has "shot itself in the foot" by voting against a UN General Assembly resolution on the Crimea, Dacic said he was unsure whether those who had voted for the proposed resolution on the Crimea would have voted in the same way if it had been about Kosovo.

Serbia, too, could have certain objections about how Ukraine has voted in the past, Dacic said.

Serbia respects Ukraine's territorial integrity, he said.

"Serbia did not vote for the resolution on the state of human rights in the Crimea due to an exceptionally harshly worded text of the resolution, which attacked Russia in the most reckless way," Dacic said.
