Vulin urges EU to boost aid to Serbia for migrants

BRUSSELS - Serbian Minister of Labour, Employment and Social and Veteran Affairs Aleksandar Vulin urged the EU on Thursday to step up financial aid to Serbia for migrants in its territory and provide assistance in border control.

Meeting with EU Commissioner for Migration and Home Affairs Dimitris Avramopoulos at the European Commission headquarters in Brussels, Vulin noted the Balkan migrant route was still "very much alive" despite its political and formal closure, and that the migrants travelling across Serbia were now staying in the country for longer periods of time.
