Portuguese singer to take stage in Ankara

Portuguese singer Teresa Salgueiro will be on stage for the first time in Ankara. 

Best known as the lead singer of Madredeus from 1987 until 2007, Salgueiro also participated as lead actress in a feature film by Wim Wenders, "Lisbon Story."

In 2006 Salgueiro released the album "Obrigado," a collaboration with various artists such as José Carreras, Caetano Veloso, Angelo Branduardi amongst others. In 2007 she recorded two albums in partnership with the Septet João Cristal (Você e Eu) and the Lusitânia Ensemble (La Serena) that explores diverse musical universes demonstrating her versatility as an interpreter. At this time she also maintained a regular program of concerts in Europe, Brazil and Mexico.

Salgueiro will be on the stage at the MEB Şura Hall on March 5 as part of the 3rd Ankara World Music Festival.
