Heavy fog paralyzes life in Istanbul
Heavy fog covered Istanbul on Feb. 28 and has caused delays in air and sea travel in the province.
Turkish Airlines (THY) announced that they temporarily suspended their flights in Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport beginning from 7:00 a.m. on March 1 due to heavy fog, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
THY Press Office said domestic and international flights would be activated after the weather conditions change.
Pegasus Airlines has announced that at least 30 of their flights have been delayed.
Meanwhile, Istanbul's Fast Ferry and Sea Bus Company (IDO) announced the cancelation of all its services on March 1, while Bursa's BUDO also said trips to and from Istanbul have been cancelled. Cityline Ferry services have also been suspended due to heavy fog.
