After meeting with US ambassador Thaci "tones down rhetoric" on Kosovo army
Kosovo President Hashim Thaci has toned down his rhetoric on the issue of establishing a Kosovo army, after his meeting with the US ambassador.
Koha Ditore, an Albanian language daily from Pristina, is reporting this on Friday, adding that Thaci "agreed to temporarily back away" from his decision to transform the Kosovo Security Forces (KSF) into an army, and instead wait for the Serb (Srpska) List to join the process.
The waiting, the newspaper's sources said, could last "even up to six months."
Another Pristina-based daily, Zeri, quotes political analysts who do not expect the government in Pristina to submit a draft law on the KSF transformation to the Kosovo Assembly "before the presidential election in Serbia on April 2."
