Two suspects arrested due to butchering eight horses in Turkey's Adana

Two suspects were arrested on June 10 due to butchering eight horses in the southern province of Adana, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

Suspects who are also brothers, were detained by police during a raid in Adana's Yüreğir district on June 7. 

Brothers said that they butchered horses for eating by themselves and dishing out  Syrian refugees who were living in the same district, in their testimonies.

On June 7, police seized 33 horses including 8 eight of them were butchered in a depot of a two-storey building.

25 horses which were saved in the raid were delivered to animal shelter in Adana.
