Three Romanian Troops Wounded in Afghanistan
Three Romanian infantry troops were wounded in a car bomb in the Afghanistan southern province of Kandahar on Friday, the Ministry of Defence in Bucharest announced.
One of the men is in a critical condition, while the other two have serious injuries, but are stable, a ministry press release said.
The troops were hit by a booby trapped car that hit the convoy of four MRAPs [Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected] of the Romanian army.
Romania has 620 troops serving in Afghanistan as part of the NATO-led Resolute Support Mission.
The Balkan country has participated in NATO missions in Afghanistan since 2002, and 23 of its soldiers have been killed in action there, seven of them in Zabul province. At least 131 troops have been wounded in action before Friday's events.
