Turkey is not occupying Syria’s Afrin district but is only fighting against terrorists there, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on Jan. 26, referring to “Operation Olive Branch,” launched on Jan. 20 to remove People’s Protection Units (YPG) militants from the northwestern district.
