Prison phone smuggling operation intercepted

Prison authorities foiled an attempt Tuesday to smuggle 20 mobile phones and SIM cards into the Domokos penitentiary in central Greece.

The devices were found in a parcel, addressed to an inmate, that was intercepted by prison guards.

In a statement, the Justice Ministry extended its appreciation to the prison staff for "conscientiously" doing their duty.
