Spring Allergies Attack us After the Flu
After flu and autumn-winter viral infections there is a series of allergies, which are activated among people in spring. Every third Bulgarian suffers from some form of allergy, as the frequency of this problem increases every year.
Over the last two decades, specialists from all countries, especially from industrialized countries, have reported that more and more children and adults develop an allergy. Expectations are that, after 10-15 years, 50% of the population will suffer from this problem, said Allergologist Dr. Simeon Uzunov of the Clinic of Clinical Allergology at Alexandrovska Hospital.
In his words, in the spring, allergies are mostly pollen. They start from the middle and the end of February to April, with the flowering of trees, wood pollen - birch, followed by flowering of grasses, grass pollen - from May to July. "The most common allergies are allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, often as rhinoconjunctivitis (with symptoms from the eyes and nose) and extremely important - bronchial asthma," says Dr. Uzunov.
There are many factors related to allergies, but the main ones are air pollution, nutrition, he explains.
