Romania's Halep advances to Miami Open women's singles round three

Romanian tennis player Simona Halep, world number one, on Thursday advanced to women's singles the third round of the 7,972,535-USD Miami Open tournament after defeating France's Oceane Dodin 3-6 6-3 7-5.

Halep, 26, the top seed of the competition, won 47,170 US dollars and 65 WTA singles points. Her next opponent is 30th-seeded Polish Agnieszka Radwanska, who beat Belgian Alison Van Uytvanck 6-3 7-6 (7/4).
