PAME protesters to stand trial over attack on Truman statue

Two members of the Communist Party-affiliated union PAME who were accused of leading efforts to pull down the statue of former US president Harry S. Truman in central Athens during an anti-war rally on Monday are to stand trial on April 25, it was announced Tuesday.

They face charges of causing bodily harm to police officers, damaging public property, resisting arrest and weapons possession.
