Croats Join Anti-Abortion Walk
The "Walk for Life" is an event taking place this Saturday in three of Croatia's main cities, Zagreb, Split and Rijeka.
The organisers have said they want to stage a peaceful walk at which people can "give support to the protection of human life from conception to natural death".
This is the third year the event is being held in Zagreb, the second year in Split and the first time in Rijeka.
The walk is seen as a gathering of conservative and religious organisations and anti-abortion supporters.
In Rijeka, a counter-event, called the "Walk for freedom" is also taking place, staged by an ad hoc civic initiative called "Citizens of Rijeka" - which is organising its own walk in opposition to what deems the strengthening of conservatism in Croatia.
