Today, the Fate of Penka the Cow will be Decided

The Director of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency personally will decide the fate of Penka the cow today. The animal crossed our border with Serbia and spent 15 days on the territory of our western neighbor, then returned home. This has forced Penka to be tested for viruses to prevent disease.

The first results of the laboratory analyzes are good, informs NVF on Saturday. However, the animal can still be killed because it has been in a non-EU country for some time.

The fate of the cow also provoked an international response, as a British journalist began a petition to save her. Even Paul McCartney called for the animal not to be killed.
