ForMin Melescanu, at CAE meeting in Luxembourg; stage of progress in files on security and defence on ministers' agenda
Head of the Romanian diplomacy Teodor Melescanu will participate on Monday in the meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council (CAE) to be held in Luxembourg, where the EU member states' Foreign ministers will have a joint working session with the Ministers of Defence, on which occasion they will assess the stage of progress in security and defence.
Moreover, the ministers reunited in a common format will talk about the strengthening of the EU-NATO relation, in the presence of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, MAE specifies in a press release sent to AGERPRES on Sunday.
The agenda of the meeting will include discussions on topics such as: regional developments in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea, the second report on the implementation of the objectives of the EU Global Strategy on Foreign and Security Policy (EUGS), namely the situation in Jordan.
In the category various aspects, Romania and Bulgaria will brief about the stage and the perspectives the regional cooperation initiatives at the Black Sea with the EU support.
At the same time, during an informal working lunch, the ministers will exchange views on developments in Yemen, in the presence of the Special Envoy for Yemen of the UN Secretary-General.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Kotzias will host an informal working breakfast, with the Albanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati, as special guest, MAE further shows.
