AGERPRES documentary "Greater Union: Romania, 100 years on", screened in Vaslui
The AGERPRES documentary "Greater Union: Romania, 100 years on" was screened on Sunday within the Romanian Film Centennial, included in the Cultural Days of Vaslui Municipality.
"The Romanian Film Centennial is a project I started this February in Iasi, it is a project that wishes to map Greater Romania, we talk about Romania, the Republic of Moldova and Cernauti. As many as 100 movies were chosen, selected by important names of the Romanian cinema. For the beginning, we bring in a documentary. Since we are in the Year of the Centennial, it is utmost that we know our history the good way. The documentary , produced by the National News Agency AGERPRES presents the historical moments and events that took place in 1916 - 1918. To know our true history is important, to know it as it has happened is important, and you'll draw your conclusions in the end," the project director Andrei Giurgia said.
For four days, within the Romanian Film Centennial in Vaslui screened will be four Romanian movies: Felix si Otilia /Felix and Otilia, directed by Iulian Mihu, California Dreamin' (Nesfarsit), directed by Cristian Nemescu, A fost sau n-a fost? / East of Bucharest, directed by Corneliu Porumboiu and O vara de neuitat / An Unforgettable Summer, directed by Lucian Pintilie.
From 12 to 15 August, in the lobby of the Constantin Tanase Culture House of Vaslui the AGERPRES's "Romania - Evolution" photo exhibition will be mounted, as an edition dedicated to the Greater Union.
The Romania - Republic of Moldova - Cernauti cinema productions' caravan unfolded under the name of "Romanian Film Centennial - 100 years, 100 movies, 100 cities" was launched this February in Iasi, a project initiated by the ARTIS Association of Iasi and the MIA Civic Association of Chisinau.
