UPDATE/JusMin Toader proposes Adina Florea as chief prosecutor of DNA

Prosecutor with the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Constanta Courthouse and currently delegated to the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Constanta Court of Appeals Adina Florea will be proposed by Justice Minister Tudorel Toader for the prosecutor-in-chief office of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA), the Justice Ministry (MJ) informs.

"Following the selection procedure, which took place between 6 August and 4 September, at the Justice Ministry headquarters, we bring to your knowledge that Justice Minister Tudorel Toader's proposal for the appointment as prosecutor-in-chief of the National Anticorruption Directorate is Adina Florea," reads the announcement published by the website of the MJ.

According to the MJ, this proposal will be forwarded to the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) in view of a consultative opinion and, subsequently, to President Klaus Iohannis for the appointment in office.

The prosecutor-in-chief office of the DNA became vacant after Laura Codruta Kovesi was dismissed form office through a decree issued on 9 July by President Klaus Iohannis, who enforced a decision of the Constitutional Court of Romania.
