Dragnea: Iohannis - most powerful man in Romania, exercices this power abusively
Social Democratic Party (PSD) Chairman Liviu Dragnea declared on Sunday night that President Klaus Iohannis will stop at nothing to block Government and he is the most powerful man in Romania, exercising this power abusively.
"Iohannis is the most powerful man in Romania. He has the services, he has a lot of prosecutors and influence through these institutions on some judges. The most powerful man in Romania is Iohannis. He exercises this power abusively. We have this coalition, we have a majority in Parliament and Government. With these institutions you produce growth, while he, using these institutions abusively, does harm and underdevelopment, turmoil, drives a wedge and spreads hate," said Dragnea at private TV broadcaster Antena 3.
He criticized the fact that President Klaus Iohannis greatly delayed the convening of the Supreme Council of National Defence (CSAT)'s meeting for the approval of the budget rectification draft project.
"After having been requested [CSAT's opinion on budget rectification, ed. n], let's discuss within CSAT about every budget of these institutions that are under the CSAT. He couldn't have set it up for the second day [the meeting - ed. n], or the third day since he received the request, he set it up for September 4. He was interested in getting past August, getting to September, just-just some actions might get lost, maybe some money from certain areas might be spent. On September 4, when you meet in CSAT, everyone speaks their own point of view, you stay there until you find a solution in order to give a favorable or unfavorable opinion. Now it is common knowledge, it is known: he got up from the table, suspended the session, goodbye. What kind of president, statesman, would do anything in order to block the Government?," Liviu Dragnea declared.
He also said that funding for services was not cut, but rather "an amount accepted by both parties was reached", supporting the declassification of the transcripts of the last CSAT session.
He brought into discussion the fact that president Klaus Iohannis attacked 37 laws at the Constitutional Court, in 7 months.
"He wants to block everything, everything he can. There were laws that we were surprised to see that he missed," Dragnea said. AGERPRES (RO - author: Alina Novaceanu editor: George Onea EN - author: Catalin Cristian Trandafir, editor: Simona Iacob)
