PM Dancila welcomes Moroccan ForMin Bourita to discuss collaboration in renewable energies, digitisation

Prime Minister Viorica Dancila welcomed visiting Morocco's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Nasser Bourita at the Government House on Wednesday, with the two officials expressing their interest in continuing co-operation in agriculture, and also in developing co-operation in areas such as renewable energies and digitisation.

According to a government's press statement, the good level of relations between Romania and Morocco was highlighted, both bilaterally and at the level of international organisations.

"From the perspective of the positive dynamics of the bilateral economic relations of late, both sides emphasised the use of their untapped potential to boost economic exchanges. In this respect, discussed was the organisation of the 11th meeting of the Romanian-Moroccan Joint Economic and Technical Co-operation Commission in Bucharest in 2019."

At the same time, the two dignitaries expressed their interest in "continuing traditional co-operation in the field of agriculture, and also in developing co-operation in areas that can add value, such as renewable energies or digitisation."

Dancila also expressed her conviction that bilateral relations could be better supported by high-level contacts, duplicated by regular expert consultations.

"The Moroccan foreign minister voiced Morocco's support for Romania's bid for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council in 2020-2021," the statement said.
