Bulgarian Customs Officials Seized 7200 Liters of Alcohol in Cans Packaged as Coconut Milk
7200 liters of alcohol, masked as coconut milk, was seized by customs officers in the Danube Bridge 2 area during an inspection carried out on March 15, the Customs Agency reported.
The goods were described in the accompanying documents as coconut milk and opened during the inspection of a lorry with a Bulgarian registration, traveling in the direction of Western Europe via the Danube Bridge at Vidin - Calafat.
Upon opening one of the factory sealed cans, arranged in ten pallets with a total weight of more than 6 tonnes, customs officers found that "coconut milk" was actually a colorless alcohol-smelling liquid.
By measuring with a densitometer the high alcoholic degree of the liquid was confirmed - 96,8. Samples for laboratory analysis were taken.
Administrative-criminal proceedings have been instituted, the case continues.
