PM Orban on court decision on emergency fines: It shocks me, it is patently political
Prime Minister Ludovic Orban declared himself "shocked" on Wednesday by the Constitutional Court's decision to accept an Ombudsman's notification of a government emergency ordinance regulating fines issued under in state of emergency for the enforcement of the coronavirus lockdown. "Just like other decisions taken by the CCR during Dragnea's time, this decision also shows that the current CCR is on the side of those who break the law, on the side of those who break the rules. (...) A decision that shocks me, that has an obvious political nature," Orban said. In his opinion, the CCR decision represents "an invitation to disobey the law, an incitement to anarchy." CCR accepted on Wednesday a notification from the Ombudsman on a government emergency ordinance regulating fines issued under the state of emergency for the enforcement of the coronavirus lockdown.
