Covid-19 in Bulgaria: Growing Incidence Rate, 53 Fatalities

 Over the past 24 hours, 943 new carriers of coronavirus infection have been identified in the country, data from the single information portal shows.

Yesterday, 4,410 tests were made - 2,637 PCR and 1,773 antigen.

As of March 22, the active cases were 56,633, the previous day they were 56,277.

The number of people admitted to hospitals continues to grow - they are now 8,660, 115 more than yesterday. The intensive care units have 690 patients.

On 21March, 2,358 doses of COVID-19 vaccines were given and the total number since the start of the immunisation campaign is 368,905. Vaccinated with second dose are 71,224 people.

In the past 24 hours, the disease has claimed the lives of 53 people, with 534 cured.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, there have been 12,019 coronavirus  deaths in Bulgaria, 234,771 people have been rehabilitated.

The total number of confirmed carriers of the SARS-CoV-2 is 303,423, of which 11,209 are medics.

The most new cases are registered in Sofia, Burgas and Varna.

63,721 people remain in quarantine.
